Jump Start Program, New Zealand - 2017

Our Founding Member Malcolm Fraser acted as the program director for Jump Start, a collaboration in New Zealand between Palmerston North City Council, Massey University, BCC, InspireNet, Microsoft, The Future Cities Institute and Nokia focused on developing regional competitiveness, increasing productivity and validating the use of Collaborative Innovation to drive innovation in regional economies focused on Agriculture.

Over the 90-day period running Oct-Dec 2016, we established an innovation pop-up hub in the heart of Palmerston North city and ran a series of industry, and community engagement activities that helped to digitally transform the local Agri-Food industries and facilitated stakeholder engagement across both the private and public sector in the themes of agriculture, the future of work, community engagement and smart cities.

Jump Start also allowed the various stakeholders to identify and execute opportunities for economic and social development and engage with over 200 senior stakeholders from government, industry and academia in the region.
